A Few Scraps ~ don't we all have 'em

goose-in-corner block tutorial    This tutorial is really cool....  check it out, Christina makes  wonky geese toward the end of the tut.  Her technique is really good ~ read the whole tut. as there is a good deal of  really useful information along different application possibilities...  Very clever... It's always fun to 'mix it up' and this looks like fun to make.  Give it a whirl...  Enjoy

Yep, you got it ~ This gal creates...

You've got to meet Malka. She has real insight and talent when it comes to doing what she does with fabric. I learned of a stitch in dye from r0ssie. Again, thanks to r0ssie...   Beautiful color choices and combinations and then she gets to use them in the creation of pillows, quilts and other stuff...  How lucky to be her ~ I must say.  Thank you to both ladies for making our world brighter and easier to look at.    More later    Enjoy

Loose Ends ~ I need advice...

I have started so many things (not projects) but blogs & web sites that I find myself scattered about with no real continuity that I'm comfortable with.  I'm not sure how I ended up like this except to say that I began, slept and started anew the next day, month with a new idea or name for a blog. Now I have allot of blogs, not much content and now I have time to do some catching up.  I want to do it right.  No kidding, I am scattered.  Does anyone have any advice, suggestions or ideas how I can tie all these loose ends together??   Please be kind...  If you have allot to say and it's constructive and pertinent please feel free to email me.  Cheers

I love, love, love this ~ "Just for fun... by Tazzie"

May I introduce you to Tazzie (who looks way too young to be so accomplished).  But she is amazing in her endeavors... When I grow up I want to be like Tazzie!!  Uh, too late...  I'm old enough to be her mother (he he).  I came across her blog a few years ago and listed her as a blog I follow in  SewingDee..  Things happened and I fell out of touch with following anything or even blogging myself  yadda yadda..  Well today I was picking up some pieces - of my life (lol) and decided to revisit some of my old haunts and OMG what a diamond mine I fell into when I went to see Tazzie Quilts today...  Check her out!!  You'll be happy you did!! Tazzie Quilts

~ Today is the first day of the rest of my blogging life ~

That being said, currently my photos in the slide show, are projects I've already made.  So, I will be broadening my horizons now and documenting, or journaling 'the process' I used to get there...  Something I've always wanted to do and now that I've pledged so will do so... And I owe it to Rossie  Once again I discovered what many of you have already discovered...  An amazing woman is behind this and her name is r0ssie.  She sounds like a woman after my own heart.  What I hear from her is oftentimes what I've thought and considered in my thought process and dismissed cause it was rather difficult to verbalize or communicate effectively.  Well r0ssie goes there ~ and now I will too..  Thank you Rossie~   More later...  Enjoy

Alphabet Soup

Alphabet Soup
Another really interesting blog, this one is about food... Yummmmm~

~ Let's make a quilt for you ~ Cuddle with your memories ~

Do you have a tote somewhere in your home that holds cloth memories?? The kids baby clothes, hubby's frayed shirts, concert tee shirts,  a collection of bandannas, ties, favorite dresses that fit no longer or remnants of a sort... Why not turn them into a quilt, throw or sash to lay across your bed that you can see and touch every day or hang as a wall decoration to put a smile on your face every time you see it.. It's time to free that bin up for something else!  Clear your clutter.  Email me, Donnalee, and we can discuss your options... It's time, clear the cobwebs and move forward.  Cheers

Naptime Quilter

WOW, I just found a new inspirational site for this week!!  This gal is certainly not napping...  is Cheryl, by my interpretation seems to be a well rounded woman in the 21st Century! I love her Bio. I would say, curl up in your computer chair with a cup of joe, tea or hot cocoa as she has a vast array of links and places to explore within the pages of her Blog!  I know I will be spending a good amount of time hunting for daisies in the fields of pages.  What a lucky day for me, and now you, that Cheryl  (aka)  Naptime Quilter is in our lives.  Enjoy!!

Quilt it Freehand - Threads

by Joe Cunningham from Threads #73, pp. 50-54   Go ahead ~ Live dangerously. Old school ideas with regard to Quilting. You don't need a 'long arm' "I'm just saying" you just need your 2 hands a needle and some thread.  Bonus is in the form of a directions in building a quilt frame that you can make on which to do your quilting.  This article really appeals to me because of the artistic value that hand stitching adds to the character of a quilt.  Quilt-it-Freehand   Happy Quilting All

Creativity at its best

Gail Garber's newest book
I would never think of pretending I know a lot about quilting. I'm not here to re-invent the wheel... As with most things I do,  I observe, identify the elements that I like, ruminate then I get busy. Creating what I see in my minds' eye. There are many people who know the history of quilts and when I come across them, I will be sure to share. One such person who I think is phenomenal in her concept and execution is Gail Garber . If you want to see some eye candy feast your eyes on her imaginative collection.   Ciao for now.

Welcome!

There are some phenominal blogs out there and I will share as many as I can with you...  Some of these authors are very talkative, I am more the quiet type.
Hopefully I can strike a happy medium with those who stumble across my blog and keep you interested in what I find interesting and have to share with you!
So, as I said "Welcome" to Vintage Quiltage ~ where yesterday's quilts are imagined anew...
